Had a great time this weekend at a shooting range. It was for a friends birthday. I’d only fired a shotgun in the past so it was pretty fun… they had a .45 and 9mm handgun, 12 gauge and the best a vintage World War 2 SKS russian rifle.. even had the bayonet… it was pretty fun to shoot.
Handguns were fun too… plus they brought some shell for the shotgun that practically took your shoulder off! Can’t remember how big the shot inside the shell was. They were all fun! Check out some photos below.

Here is my first blending attempt with silkscreening! Turned out ok. Would have liked to keep the colours a bit brighter but it muddied quick. A success I say! Also my first print using halftone stencil. Still need to to the other half of the print but it’ll just be in black.

At Sara’s friends in San Diego. Sara is knitting her presents this year and is a little behind. Too much wine I say! I’m still waiting for my mittens from last year. They are still missing thumbs!

Been thinking about setting up my own silk screen operation for a while… finally decided to bite the bullet! More of an expense than i wanted but it’ll prove worth while. Already have done a few two colour prints. made my own exposure box that so far is working great. Christmas presents here we come.
Exposure box at work!
After the burn… so far the stencils come out great
Setup ready to print
Flooded!
Drying the first round, Sara wasn’t too impressed with them right in front of the TV.
Final print! This is a present for the nephews.

Cooling! Nice and dark. Black as death… A good proper stout. Hopefully it’ll turn out as good as it looks.

It’s an ambitious day! Not only are we brewing a stout we’re doing all grain instead of the pre made malt. Mmmmm!

Here’s my Donnie Darko / Splicer inspired mask. Was going more for the splicers… Just played Bioshock again. Love that game!
Went out to the Parade of Lost Souls as well… it was ok but the event structure was messed… too many people in small, small alleys. Great ideas but was annoying crowded. The Puppeteer was the best act I thought (last pic).

Sara was fascinated her wine was transparent! She also thought it was the spot for the well of lost souls from Indiana jones.
